



Dominic Cabusi began his love for music as a vocalist, rhythm guitarist and songwriter. At twelve years old he formed his first band Ethix, in which he wrote and toured his first EP; ‘Pages From Her Diary.’ From the age of fifteen Dom was already touring with his second Alt-Pop Rock band Bleached Academy; sharing line ups with bands such as Dead Letter Circus, winning Youth Rock 2008 and featuring on the YOUTHROCK 09 Poster. The group recorded their debut EP with Producer Phil McKellar (Silverchair, The Getaway Plan, Kisschasy). By seventeen he was working as a session guitarist for Sony Music; touring with Hayley Warner, appearing on Channel 7’s Sunrise and playing shows such as Australia Day Live at Parliament House to a crowd of over 30,000.
Fresh out of highschool, Dom’s band Sound of Seasons featuring Northlane’s Marcus Bridge was selling out shows at ‘The Lair,’ featuring on Toasted TV (Channel 10) and supporting acts like Mariana’s Trench at The Metro. Sporting 2 EP’s and several National tours, the band worked under Harbour Agency and Artery Global, sharing line ups with These Kid’s Wear Crowns, Tonight Alive, Closure in Moscow and Hands Like Houses.
In 2015, Dom graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Performance at The Australian Institute of Music. After finishing his studies, he quickly established himself as one of Sydney’s in demand session bassists, working with Artists like Paloma Faith, Aston Merrigold and Nico & Vins on TV shows such as X factor, Sunrise (Channel 7) and The Morning Show (Channel _7). He wrote and toured with Neo Soul / Indie band Levingstone, playing festivals such as ‘Mullumbimby Music Festival’ and ‘Bellingen Jazz Festival.’ In 2017 Dom curated the ‘Progressive Soul Collection’ for BOSS; a selection of bass patches featured in his own original composition and video for the GT-1B product launch. He also featured as double bass / electric bass for Musicals such as ‘Grease,’ ‘In The Heights,’ ‘Triassic Park’ and ‘Three In The Bed.’ During this time he also worked as a Guest Entertainer for P&O Cruise-lines, featuring on board as a Vocalist, guitarist and bassist.
In 2016, Dominic honed in on his multi-instrumentalist, arranger and songwriter skills to begin working as a producer. Since then he’s worked on several EP’s, albums and singles with artists across Pop, Country, Rnb, Folk, Rock and Electronic sub-genres. Under Maari Music he has been commissioned to compose and produce for several Short Films, Podcast Introductions, Radio show Introductions as well as working on Feature Film; ‘The Legend of The Five’ which screened in Australian Cinemas 2020 (Event Cinemas, Village Cinemas, Showbiz and more) before having it’s TV Premiere on ABC ME in 2021 and becoming available to TVOD in The UK and US and screening in select US Cinemas. The film encompassed a complete Score and two Title Tracks composed and produced under the Maari Music duo. The Team are now working towards their next Film Score and Soundtrack for an Australian coming of age dance film 'The Red Shoes: Next Step' which will be distributed by Pivot Pictures in 2022. This will feature an electro-acoustic style score and a diverse Soundtrack with a range of vocalists set to feature on the tracks written in accordance with the script and characters.
Under Maari Music, Dom has also begun work in Sync Music / Publishing; releasing a collaboration with Castle Music under KPM Music (Sony Music Publishing) in late 2021. The album 'Earth Songs;' was released in association with the AWC (Australian Wildlife Conservancy) and features four of the duo's original tracks on the compilation of songs inspired by conservation, nature and our connection to this planet.
Outside of their work in Film/TV/Media/Publishing, Maari as Artists have also released a multitude of singles, two volumes of their series; ‘Disney Revamped’ and a five track EP ‘You Should Know.’ In the four years they’ve worked together they’ve shared the stage with the likes of North East Party House, Wafia, and E^st and have received International radio play and attention from blogs such as Pilerats, Auspop, and Wonky Sensitive. Their Music Videos have been featured at Sydney Fringe Festival's Clipped.Tv event, Parramatta Lanes Festival and on MTV's program 'MTV Upload.’
Today Dom spends his time at the Maari Music production suite at Messiah Studios Sydney working as a Composer, Producer, Songwriter and Session Musician.
